The James Joyce Centre in Dublin’s Northern Georgian Quarter is dedicated to Dublin’s most famous writers and is located in a beautifully restored Georgian building. The centre is a must for Joycean fans, featuring exhibitions and displays from Joyce’s private literary collection. There are also fascinating histories items including the writer’s furniture and actual death mask.
The James Joyce Centre holds a series of on-going lectures throughout the year covering many of his famous books including, ‘Ulysses,’ ‘Finnegan’s Wake’ and ‘Dubliners.’ Walking tours of the city based on Joyce’s life and work are also arranged and an enjoyable way to see Dublin, especially around Blooms Day (June 16th), made famous in Ulysses! There are three tours per week during the Spring and Summer season and one per week during the Autumn/Winter season.
