McDonald’s Will Launch Its First Fully Vegan Meal In January

Vegan-friendly nuggets are on the way!

McDonald’s Ireland has announced that it will launch its first-ever fully vegan meal in January 2020.

One of the most popular fast-food chains has released vegetarian and vegan meal options before but these could not be labeled at 100% vegan due to the fact that most of the time they were prepared in the same area as other meals which did contain animal products.

All of this is to change with the introduction of the veggie dippers from the 2nd of January 2020.

The Vegan Society approved the meal which will come with a portion of fries and any of the drinks options, as well as, sauces. The new Veggie Dippers are made with red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas surrounded by light and crispy breadcrumbs.

Thomas O’Neill, Head of Food Marketing at McDonald’s UK & Ireland, said: “In the last 12 months we’ve seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald’s, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers.

“The Veggie Dippers are a delicious addition to our menu and we’re looking forward to seeing what customers make of our first vegan Extra Value Meal and Happy Meal in the New Year.”

Great news for the vegans out there.
