The Guinness Storehouse – Home to the famous “Black Stuff”
Why should you visit The Guinness Storehouse ®? Well, aside from pouring a wickedly smooth and creamy pint of the black stuff, which is also served on their rooftop Gravity Bar ®, The Guinness Storehouse® continues to hail as Dublin’s top attraction and is a must-do for locals and tourist alike!
Situated in the heart of the Guinness® brewery, the Storehouse® itself is located in one of Dublin’s oldest fermentation plants. And for those of you who love nothing more than experiencing a trip down memory lane, a walk through this old industrial building, built of red brick and steel, will also provide you with the opportunity to view a variety of Guinness adverts dating as far back as the 20th century. These include a look at some of the more iconic adverts approved by Arthur Guinness and of course, the Guinness family.
From there, one can travel up through the dramatic glass elevator (which now resembles a giant pint glass), to learn more about Guinness brand, its people and the city which it has called its home for so many years!
The tour itself details the 250-year history of Dublin and the Guinness family, reaching its conclusion on the seventh floor – also known as Guinness’ Gravity Bar® (where the views are absolutely breathtaking, by the way!).
It is there, that each visitor has the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness® and of course, the most spectacular views of Dublin.
Top Tip! If time is of the essence, be sure to purchase a fast-track ticket; this entitles you to skip the queue. These tickets can be purchased at all Dublin Visitor Center stores. Please know that the public rate will increase to €29.00 per person during the 4 day St. Patrick’s festival. The regular ticket rate of €25.00 is NOT VALID during the St. Patrick’s Festival dates!
