Supporting its two high profile retail units (located on O’Connell Street and Grafton Street) dublinvisitorcentre.com provides Tours, Attractions, Activities, Food & Drink and Accommodation in and from Dublin under one roof.

What we Need:

We are looking for an exciting forward thinking Intern who may become full time part of the team. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and stand out, have ideas and not just think. Someone who wants to help take our brand into the stratosphere and make it their own. Not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. We believe in creating value through our brand, brand power. We expect an intern to at least be up to speed on traditional marketing, social media, blog etc. You must be prepared to hit the ground running. What we want is for you to be with us, be part of us, grow and embrace. Your Responsibilities:

  •  Monitoring local and national media/news related to Dublin (arts/culture, hospitality, things to do, eating/drinking/entertainment, shopping) in addition to Ireland, tourism, travel tips, special interest features
  • Pitching and writing articles, conducting interviews, experiencing and creating engaging and creative content and media (images, video etc) about Dublin’s hot spots and hidden gems (in line with our keyword strategy) for the Dublin Visitor Centre blog and social media platforms.
  • Proofreading and basic copywriting
  • Build online presence through ongoing interactions with followers and partner organisations
  • Occasionally drafting press releases and opinion pieces for local media
  • Turning digital marketing ideas into great experiences for visitors to Dublin

Ideal Skills You Will Have:

  • Third level qualification or in the middle of studying Communications, Journalism, PR or English Degree
  • A positive outgoing personality with an ability to work well as part of a team or alone
  • Natural flair for creating fresh, original, engaging content (attaching links to blogs, articles etc is recommended when applying)
  • Must have strong communication skills, including demonstrated and effective writing and speaking.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills required.
  • Access to computer and Internet and smartphone preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive required.

 What you will gain:

  • Portfolio of regular published work.
  • Hours are flexible (approximately 10-12 hours a week with flexibility during mid-terms and finals) and you have the option to work from your location. You will learn how to use cloud based collaboration tools to interact with our company
  • Work to weekly milestones

The right candidate will be available immediately for at least 3 months, for 10-12 hours per week, with the possibility of an extension subject to agreement.
