Two new statues of Luke Kelly unveiled in Dublin

A celebration to the rare auld times…

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Luke Kelly’s death, two statues of the Irish star have been unveiled on each side of Dublin city.

You now can admire two statues of the Irish singer who made songs such as “The town I loved so well” and “the Black Velvet Band” so popular today!

Statue number, of his head, in stone and metal, is situated at Guild Street/Sheriff Street on the Royal Canal where this Irish icon was born.

The second one Luke Kelly statute, a large bronze statue, is of Kelly singing and playing Banjo and located on South King Street.

What a grand gesture for such a star, and it is about time too!
