Seriously good restaurant !
The Meeting House, one of Dublin’s newest restaurants located in the elegant Meeting House Square, has injected a dynamic flair into the dining scene in Temple Bar. Laura from the Dublin Visitor Centre, armed with a nothing but a ferocious hunger and a trusted companion, was one the first of the team to try our this new Burmese eatery!
“After a busy day vintage shopping in Temple Bar we stopped into the Meeting House restaurant. Pitching itself as a ‘creative meeting place in town’ the Meeting House certainly lives up to its name and artistic aspirations. It’s quirky mix of reformatted antique furniture pieces and urban art gives the Meeting House a cool modern charm and relaxed ambiance.
I love Tapas Style dining as it allows me to try lots of different flavours and textures. We decided to order the Mini Asian Burgers with Wasabi Aioli, warm Duck Salad with Pomegranate, Chicken Curry & Prawn Tempura served with a side of Asian sweet potatoes. The dishes were impeccably presented and washed down by a Mai Tai while my dining companion tried a craft beer from the extensive selection. I’d like to say that our eyes were bigger than our bellies, however the food was so delicious that we did not leave a single morsel! Coeliac diners are well catered for with a separate Gluten Free menu. Bomra, the head chef, is a master at fusing locally sourced top quality Irish meat, fish & poultry with incredible Asian spices, producing wonderfully complex taste sensations. Alas we did not leave room for desert however they looked delectable! The guests at the next table were a lovely French Couple, who had just gotten off the ‘Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing Tour‘ at Stop 9 adjacent to the Dublin Castle Complex.
The Meeting House Team have certainly achieved their aim to create a space where ‘People meet to create their own vibe, fuelled by great food, drink, music and art’. To whet your appetite take a peek at this video
