Our Top Three Dublin hostels - Dublin Visitor Centre

Our Top Three Dublin hostels

Dublin Hostels with Saunas, in-house DJs and River Kayaking

Dublin is a great short-break bolt away, just one cheap flight and a click away from most European cities. Once the flight is booked it’s onto the search for accommodation. That’s where the Dublin Visitor Centre team can help. We’ve taken a look at cheap beds sleeps and can recommend three great Dublin hostels that offer that something extra!

First up, Isaac’s Hostel on Frenchman’s Lane. Easy to find, this converted wine store is a ten minute walk from Temple Bar and Georges Street and hosts a range of its own activities. Join the Isaac’s Pub Crawl, free walking tour, quiz nights, live music gigs and summer time barbeques. After a day of sightseeing, relax in the sauna before heading out on the town with your new hostel buddies. If you play a musical instrument or can sing a few songs get in touch before you book and you might be able to trade a few hours entertaining the crowd for a free stay!

Barnacle’s Hostel in Temple Bar is in the perfect location for those who love being in the heart of the fun. This hostel’s friendly staff is complimented by its range of free activities from walking tours to pub crawls. And if you need a sofa day, Barnacles has a huge selection of DVD’s and a Playstation! But the best reason to stay in Barnacles? You can use the hair straightener before you head out for the night! Just kidding! Well, the straightener is there but what we love about Barnacles is their Play & Stay Combo – stay two nights in Barnacle’s Hostel and enjoy a kayaking tour in Dublin’s River Liffey! It’s a unique offer and one of the most fun things to do in Dublin.

Finally, the Generator Hostel in Smithfield, is a mega hostel (located in a former hotel) by an international brand with branches dotted across Europe. This friendly hostel hosts live gigs, has in- house DJ’s and its own Pub Crawl! Located in Smithfield, right beside the Old Jameson Distillery, this great little part of old Dublin has its own gorgeous cinema, an array of yummy eateries and quirky but real pubs like the Cobblestone (one of our team’s favourite). Smithfield is off the well-worn tourist trail and yet only a ten minute walk to Temple Bar putting the Generator into our top 3 hostels list.
