Electric Picnic 2018: What to expect this year

What to expect at Electric Picnic this year

Almost 55,000 people are expected to attend the Electric Picnic Festival over the next three days at Stradbally Hall in Co Laois. With award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar and others such as Massive Attack and The Prodigy headlining the event this weekend.

Irish acts such as Walking on Cars, Picture This, B*Witched, and The Coronas will also be performing, for all of you out there who likes to support the locals!

Organisers are also reminding festival-goers that ‘print-at-home tickets’ will not be accepted this year, as Gardaí this week issued a warning about fake tickets being sold online. So get yourself to a box office pronto!

And here comes the bad news, keep in mind that traffic is expected to be heavy on the M7 and M8 due to ongoing roadworks. With Gardaí advising people to use public transport or car carpool where possible – we recommend public transport!

And for the first time ever,  there is now an Irish only campsite for Irish speakers at the event this year. With the Gaeltacht area excited to be celebrating the best of Irish culture, music, and language with Bliain na Gaeilge sa Chollchoill, The Hazel Wood After Dark.

Met Éireann forecasts a dry weekend with temperatures of between 17-20 degrees, so get the shades out!

We do hope anyone going to this year’s event enjoys themselves and comes home in one piece!
