Trump has cancelled his trip to Ireland for later this month
US President Donald Trump has cancelled his planned trip to Ireland later this year.
Trump’s visit to Ireland on November 12 will now not go ahead. He was planning a quick stop in Dublin before travelling to Doonbeg, Co Clare where he owns a golf link.
Major demonstrations were planned against Trump by protest groups who were confident of large numbers showing up. With the Trump baby blimp set to make an appearance too.
It was not clear if the demonstration threats had anything to do with the cancellation.
