The Obamas have returned, well kind of…
A statue of former President of the United States of America Barack Obama, holding hands with the former First Lady Michelle Obama, has been unveiled at Offaly’s Obama Plaza yesterday.
With Cody Keenan, a speechwriter for Obama during his time in office unveiling them alongside the Minister for Diaspora and International Development, Ciaran Cannon.
Here are some photos of the statues for you to enjoy.
When we visited in 2011, I remember @BarackObama quietly marveling at walking the same wooden floor as his 3x-great grandfather. Same footsteps, long journey in between. Very grateful to everyone in Moneygall for honoring him and @MichelleObama (and for letting me pour a pint)! pic.twitter.com/su6knbr0kF

And as they are two of the better-looking statues I have seen for some time now, we can safely assume that many photos will be taken at this site in the future, as it is not every day you get to meet the Obamas.
Don’t forget you can, of course, visit the new statues on Gray Line Ireland’s tour to the Cliffs of Moher – which can be booked here!
