Dublin City Council is discussing about a traffic-free trial this summer in College Green
After various rejections, it seems that Dublin’s College Green is going to be pedestrian zone this summer!
If you remember, during the last October, An Bord Pleanála rejected the plan of turning the city centre into a pedestrian area. However, they were afraid that it would impact the bus passengers and taxis in a “significant and negative” way. Nevertheless, they agreed that this concept would improve the zone.
The officials are discussing about a trial of this idea in the College Green area to get an overview of what it would look like.
This test would run on different Sundays during July and August from 7:00 to 19:00 hrs.
With Mr.Brendan O’Brien adds that various events would take place on this plaza during this period, to show people “what College Green can do”
For the moment, nothing is happening and it is just a proposal. Let’s see what will happen in the future!
